"Doctors" Gone Wild:
Boobs Galore, and That's Just
the People

Leave it to that infamous Broward County, Fla. to be filled with boobs, and this time it’s being weighed in court.

Fort Lauderdale prosecutors are breasting about having reached a plea bargain with a guy posing as a doctor and offering free door-to-door breast exams.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel says authorities reached a deal with 81-year-old Phillip Winikoff, of Coconut Creek, who, at 76, was wandering the Lauderdale Lakes apartment complex with a black doctor’s bag. He claimed he had been sent by a local hospital, and successfully fondled two women’s breasts and genitals before he was nipped. When he reached for the genitals with an ungloved hand, it set off alarms, causing the ladies to contact the sheriff.

The two victims were 36 and 33, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Hugh Graf. At the time of the arrest, Winikoff was actually employed as a shuttle driver at an auto dealership.

If he had been tried and convicted, he would’ve been sentenced to 45+ years for sexual battery and 10 for practicing without a license.

The deal still needs to be approved by Judge Sandra Perlman, and no date has been set for a new hearing.

A similar case late last year in Idaho involved a 37-year-old woman impersonating a plastic surgeon who conducted free breast exams in local bars and nightclubs. Kristina Ross sought out random strangers for evaluations for breast augmentations.

The jig was up when prospective patients called a Boise licensed cosmetic surgeon’s office, seeking out Dr. Berlyn Aussieahshowna, a non-existent person. Both victims said they believed her because she used medical vocabulary.

During the booking, however, it turned out Ross used to be a man. Authorities say that is probably why Ross knew technical terms regarding surgical procedures.

Not clear if that’s why she was creepy, too, though.

In 2004, Ross served time in prison for aggravated battery in Twin Falls County.  The records list her gender as “M-T-F” or “male-to-female.”

Police believe there were more victims that have not yet come forward, and she will be charged with practicing medicine without a license.

Of course, if there had been a license, we can shudder about how much more she might’ve gotten away with.
